Why?

Today's column on tough-love talmudic ministration to Washington's power elite raises an important question: Why does David Brooks get a column in the paper of record? Discuss.

  1. Feeding moralistic religiosity to the "mature and hungry minds" of adults is nothing new. Geez, how many religious zealots can you think of that have offered, as Brown does, a "path out of the tyranny of the perpetually open mind by presenting authoritative traditions and teachings". Ring any bells?
And Brooks thinks our leadership needs advice from people like Erica Brown? Scary.

  2. Right! I also enjoyed this note: "Eventually, I went to her Web site to figure out what all the fuss was about." What's all this fuss these kids today are chit-chatting about on the Internets? Oy vey, this Brooks is a piece of work.
